One of our new holiday traditions is to setup a Hot Chocolate Bar in our home. With the weather getting cooler, soon we will have those snowy winter days. A ready-to-go Hot Chocolate (and tea or Coffee) Station can help you easily create a cozy family time when you head outdoors for some fun in the snow or if a friend drops by for a quick holiday hello.
You can easily incorporate this tradition in your own home with a handful of items you likely already have around the home. I'll also share what I used to set up the station in our home.
Setting up a Hot Chocolate Station in your home couldn’t be easier. Select a central location and add a few festive decorations as well as all your favourite toppings. This is all your really need for a successful Hot Chocolate Station in your home. I was able to locate some fun treats to add to our hot chocolate this year.
1. Your favourite hot chocolate mix and toppings.
I like to get a mix of different types of hot chocolate options - double chocolate, caramel, hot chocolate bombs and hot chocolate spoons :) Optional side of some delicious whipped cream, some candy canes and sprinkles. This year I am using the Sweetapolita Advent Calendar for my Sprinkles :) Each calendar comes with 24 different sprinkles mix, perfect for some festive fun!
2. Festive Decor
Add a beautiful festive garland or two, throw in some confetti to bring in the festivities to your hot chocolate station. Add a few themed decor, Christmas trees, ornaments, santa figurine, and arrange them in varying heights. A paper based runner or placemat is a good option to consider placing underneath for easy clean up and spills.
3. Holiday Mugs and To-Go Cups
Have a few options for your beverage cups for added versatility and flexibiilty. A beautiful mug goes perfectly when you have a moment to savour, perhaps curl up with a good book. If you're heading outside or entertaining, a to-go cup makes it easy to carry and is an inexpensive way to add some holiday jazz. I used our festive Oui Christmas Cozy Cups for a little extra fun. These to-go cups come with sleeves that say naughty or nice! How cute!
